Militant Statement in support of vigilante groups.

The disastrous policy of Peña: impunity for prison drug dealers and prison for vigilante groups.

1. On Friday June 27th was arrested Dr. Mireles along with 69 members of vigilante groups. The action was carried out by members of the federal police, navy, army and Michoacan police, which means, that the Mexican state displayed all their capabilities to stop the most emblematic leader of the movement of self-defense.

2. The incident occurred in the town of "La Mira", this population has been liberated from the control of drug dealers just the day before, on Thursday, 26, and it had being put under control of the local community assembly. Earlier that same day, to free their population from the yoke of the self-styled cartel "Los caballeros templarios", "La Mira" was taken by Dr. Mireles accompanied by 600 armed men.

3 the renewed offensive against drug cartels, according to the plan published by Dr. Mireles, had as objective to create favorable conditions to take control of the Port of Lazaro Cardenas and hence move towards Michoacan capital, the city of Morelia.

4 The offensive of the vigilante groups, under the direction of Mireles, exist according to Doctor Mireles due to the government has not solved anything about the issue of extreme insecurity, which prevails in Michoacan. Moreover, the statistics support Mireles point because in this federal entity the number of allegations of murder and extortion has increased since May after being paralyzed some defense groups across the state using different strategies to divide and engage a layer of leaders.

5. Peña's strategy to disarm and demobilize the self-defense groups, in addition to engaging a layer of leaders, also infiltrates cartel elements within the movement, showing the close relation between the State and drug lords.

6. This complicity relationship has again been exposed with the arrest of Dr. Mireles and his companions, due to the port of Lazaro Cardenas handles about 15% of the national port cargo, and it is not only the main port in the country but also one of the main checkpoints of the cartels its allies in the goverment.

7. The use of the port for the benefit of the "Caballeros templarios" it is not only for drug trafficking but also to import manufactured goods (clothing from China, for example) and the export of raw materials (particularly minerals) . This has lead to big profits in which average around 2,000 million dollars annually, according to data provided by the former governor of Michoacan, Fausto Vallejo.

8. Definitely, it is impossible for this kind of business, with these level of profits can be develop without the support of the government and without the complicity of banks and other kind of capitalist enterprises.

9. That is why that in order to defend the interests of the drug lords and their partners around Lázaro Cárdenas, Peña Nieto and his minions acted fast against the potential threat of their great source of business fall under the control of armed people, accounting for legitimate self-defense groups led by Dr. Mireles.

10.The arrest of Dr. Mireles and his colleagues has no other reason than protecting drug lords and their business partners for their multi million-dollar businesses in the port of Lazaro Cardenas in order to allow their normally functioning, making huge profits that do not benefit the working people and Michoacan, on the contrary, it makes affordable for the "caballeros templarios" buying sophisticated weaponry to continue oppressing Michoacan.

11. To that extent, the Mexican government is also guilty of murders, kidnappings, extortion, abduction of women, and all the barbarous suffering of the working people of Michoacan.

12. The workers in the city as well as those in the countryside must repudiate Peña Nieto policies, which only work in benefit of the drug lords. Furthermore they must claim the immediate and unconditional release of Dr. Mireles and his fellows, captured on Friday June 27 as well as the rest of vigilante member who have been sent to various prisons.

13. We should ask in our school, our neighborhood and in our workplace for the organization of committees supporting actions that support the release of Dr. Mireles and all his colleagues till we can see the success of the movement of vigilante groups and communitarian police.

14. Likewise, we must demand the to the mass organizations, both union and to all parties of the left, to call the mobilization in solidarity with the vigilante organizations and for the release of prisoners.

15. We must stop at all costs to the terror policy of Peña Nieto and his accomplices, drug cartels. Therefore we must mobilize promoting a united front of struggle between the workers of the city and countryside , along with their organizations. We must set the task of removing from its base the bloodbath, which lacerates our country for almost a decade. It means that we have to finish with the barbarism of the capitalism expropriating the businessmen and bankers that benefit directly or indirectly the business of the mafia and drug lords.
